The Canary Islands Maritime Cluster, within the framework of the actions foreseen in the INTERREG- MAC 2014-2020 projects, and as a part of the promotion actions of the Canary Islands Suppliers brand, participates in the III. Oil & Gas Meeting Day 2019, organised by the Stier Group and Saga Subsea, on 21st and 22nd March in the building of the Zona Franca of the Port of Las Palmas.

The event is a meeting place for the offshore industry, and in this edition has had the participation of companies and public officials from countries with great weight in the offshore sector such as Equatorial Guinea and Norway. The meeting tried to strengthen ties between Norway and Equatorial Guinea and study possible alliances and exchange of services, without forgetting the Canary Islands, which is the bridge between the two. This year the event had a wide representation of companies from Norway, Cyprus, Korea, Spain, United States and Equatorial Guinea, among others. Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Hydrocarbons, Gabriel Obiang, attended with the managers of the country’s public oil and gas companies, Gepetrol and Sonagas, in a large delegation of 30 people. In addition to the gas and oil sector, offshore wind energy and new fuels for ships, such as liquefied natural gas, were analysed. Among other speakers took the floor managers of companies such as the Norwegian Saga Subsea (sponsor of the event), Kinross, Enigmasec and Naturgy (former Union Fenosa).
